Christian Pulisic is hoping to end his 1st season in the perfect way; by lifting silverware at Wembley. The American has been in hot form for the Blues, particularly since the season restarted in June, after overcoming a series of niggling injuries to provide goals&assists as Frank Lampard’s side secured a top-4 finish in the Premier League. It’s not quite season over&done yet, with a Champions League clash with Bayern Munich still to come as well as FA Cup final with Arsenal on Saturday at Wembley, with Pulisic hoping to end a fine 1st season as a Chelsea player with a trophy.
‘It’s definitely been a crazy season,&a crazy year for everyone,’ said Christian. ‘It’s been very stop-start, particularly for me. I had a couple of injuries, then we had the lockdown, then the season restart. So there’s been a lot of ups&downs but I wouldn’t change it one bit. It’s been an amazing 1st season, I’ve really enjoyed it&I’m just loving every bit of being at Chelsea. ‘It has certainly been a wild 1st season, with the lockdown&stuff,&it’s something nobody could have predicted. Overall though, I’m really happy with how things have turned out&I think you can see that in my recent performances, there’s a lot of chemistry on the pitch with the guys.
‘I’ve been really pleased with my form since the restart, especially. I think I was able to come in with a different mindset, because I was fully fit&rested heading into the season starting again. I really wanted to prove myself following the injury&help the team,&I think I’ve been doing that recently. ‘I’m certainly aware of how big the FA Cup is over here. Growing up, I spent some time in England&I remember watching some FA Cup games over the years. ‘I know what it means to football fans over here&how big the competition is, so I’m honoured to be in the final&have the opportunity to go&win the trophy. I’m really excited.’
