The ministry of roads and highway has announced that, it has signed a contract, Pourtugese conglomerate Mota-Engel,Engenharia E construction Africa S.A for the design and construction of Accra -Tema motorway project .
This statement was announced in a press release signed by the minister of roads and highways, Kwasi Amoako-Atta. It was stated that, the contract was signed on December 16,2020 after the public procurement authority and central Tender review board approved it.
However , the actual construction works will start soon after the detailed design has been approved and relocated. The employers at this time will also be engaging stakeholders and project affected persons to ensure all safeguard issues are resolved.
BELOW ARE THE SCOPE OF WORKS UNDER THE CONTRACT
1.The reconstruction and expansion of the existing motorway(19.5km) into 2-lane dual carriageway for the freeway and 3-lane dual carriageway for the urban highway.
2.The reconstruction of the tetteh Quarshie interchange -Apenkwa Interchange(5.7km) into 6 lane dual carriage.
3.Reconstruction of Tesano junction-Neoplan junction (2.5km) into 3 lane dual carriage.
4. Construction of 5 new interchange at Leshibi, community 18 junction
5.Remodeling of the Tetteh Quarshie interchange
6.Reconstruction of Apenkwa interchange
7.Rehabilitation of Achimota interchange
8.provision of streetlight
9. Construction of 14 new pedestrain footbridge
10.cpntruction of Toll plazas
