“Pay thousand Ghana cedis or serve12 weeks imprisonment” – AMA to Public Toilet Managers.
The Public Health Directorate has served notice to the managers of Public Toilets within the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) to be ready to pay a fine of one thousand Ghana Cedis or serve 12 weeks imprisonment or both for failure to follow directives by the Assembly.
Owner and managers of public toilets according the Metro Public Health Director for the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Madam Florence S. Kuukyi, therefore has compiled guide lines which contains safety instruction to enable safe management of public toilets within the Metropolis.
At the launch of the guide in Accra today, Madam Florence S. Kuukyi cited that managing public toilet is very important, and without proper care in handling it could cause much danger to the nation than expected, the guide as such.
Speaking to the media, Florence S. Kuukyi, served notice to the managers of Public Toilets within the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), that it’s against the Law to discharge toilet into gutters, burning of toilet papers in the open, and when arrested one will be charged to pay a fine of One thousand Ghana Cedis (1,000.00) or serve 12 weeks imprisonment or both for failure to follow directives by the Assembly.
Madam Florence S. Kuukyi, hinted that her outfit will soon embark on uninformed inspection to all public toilet in the city and anybody found doing otherwise be sanctioned.
