REPORT ANY UNHYGIENIC FOOD PRACTICES TO OUR AUTHORITY-FD

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has urged the public to report any unhygienic food practices among food vendors to their authority in order to ascertain the safety of consumers’ health.

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the FDA in charge of Food Registration, Mr. Roderick Daddey-Adjei said Good Hygiene Principles need to be regulated and enforced and there must be an increased in public awareness on good hygiene and food safety practices that consumers should look out for apart from aesthetic attributes.

Speaking at the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and World Health Organization (WHO) workshops to strengthen the collaboration between Regulatory Agencies/Authorities for a National Food Safety Alert System in Ghana, he said they are supposed to protect its people against unsafe practices in food production, and the existing agencies needs to be equipped to enhance control.
