Death trap toilet facility leaves residents in fear as they threaten to keep using bushes


The residence of Manso Mosiaso Atobiase in Amansie west district of the Ashanti region, are complaining about a bad state of their only toilet facility serving almost 10,000 commuters.

Speaking to the media ,the residents bemoaned that, the facility has been serving the community for more years without any proper maintenance and the authorities hasn’t initiated any plan to provide new one which lately force the inhibitors access toilet in bush.

According to the residents, the current one has cave in for months now, compelling the residents to bow down before entering to ease themselves, they have threatened to daily use bush and other vantage points for toilet hub should incase their plea stand unconcern.

They have made countless appeal to the authorities to urgently assist them with modern toilet facility but no to avail.

However, to be able to abide the sanitation directives, for hygienic living, government and other stakeholders should be on their help to get proper toilet facility.

Meanwhile,the assembly member for the area Hon Stephen Appiah also explained that numerous efforts have been put across to get new toilet but all his efforts prove baseless since there’s no one available to help.

He said, the former MP for Manso Nkwanta Constituency Profesor Albert Quarm cut sod for commencement of new ultramodern toilet but immediately he lost his candidature position as NPP parliamentary candidate for the area in 2020 primaries, then the project halt up to date.
