The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has presented relief items to the families of of Seven (7) who dies of electricution while 5 others sustained injuries at Amanfrom, in the Asutifi South District of Ahafo Region.
This follows a rainstorm disaster that hit Amanfrom Community amidst collapsed of electricity polls last week Friday, destroying houses, poultry farms, public buildings (including school and churhes and poultry farms.
The storm pulled down electricity polls, plunging the area into darkness and while several others were left homeless.
A team, led by the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. George Boakye and the Director-General of NADMO, Eric Nana Agyeman Prempeh to visit the families.
He indicated that “the disaster had attracted the attention of the president who personally showed interest to be mobilized for the people Ghc20,000.00 for the affected family”.
Eric Nana Agyeman-Prempeh further stated that although the disaster is natural, in some cases they can be prevented.
Speaking on behalf of the affected by the families, the Chief of Amanfrom, Nana Yaw Boakye expressed their gratitude to government.
