Vice Dean of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Cape Coast Professor Desmond Omane Acheampong has called for stakeholder engagements to resolve issues leading to a strike action by the Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists.
According to him, medical lab Scientists play a key role in the health delivery system by providing doctors with evidence which eventually influences diagnosis and prescription of drugs.
He therefore stated that strike action by lab scientists will greatly affect health care delivery in the country hence the need to immediately resolve all outstanding issues.
He made this statement at the Maiden Matriculation Ceremony of the Thrivus Institute for Biomedical Science and Technology.
Director of the Thrivus Institute for Biomedical Science and Technology Dr. Kenneth Frimpong also added that the Institute committed to transforming students into leaders who will spearhead Scientific discoveries in Gene Therapy and Human Embryology.
