Hon. Joseph Tetteh, the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate for Upper Manya Krobo Constituency in the Eastern Region, has promised to elevate the constituency’s development if elected.
Known locally among constituents as Joe Tee, Hon. Tetteh emphasized the importance of financial stability for effective parliamentary representation and project support.
In a recent interview with Trust 98.3FM, Hon Joe Tee highlighted his previous contributions to the district, despite not holding office.
He pointed to his investments in local businesses and infrastructure, including road improvements connecting communities to Asesewa, the district’s economic hub.
The former MP for the area, Hon. Tetteh also expressed his commitment to advancing access to clean water, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 6.
According to him, his outfit has refurbished over 163 boreholes, some of which had been abandoned due to repair costs or lack of response from current representatives.
Acknowledging the delays sometimes faced in accessing the Common Fund, Mr Joseph Tetteh, currently famous for his campaign mantra, Maa ba (Grandma has come) stressed the need for MPs to have additional resources to meet urgent needs.
“Sometimes the MP’s share of the Common fund could delay but the needs of the people cannot wait thus the need for the MP to have some extra funds to support some of the projects while he awaits his share of the common fund”, Mr. Tetteh added.
He expressed confidence that his removal from parliament allowed the people of Upper Manya Krobo to better appreciate the development achievements under his tenure and those of the current MP, Mr. Bismarck Tetteh Nyarko.
Hon Joseph Tetteh had a historic victory in 2016, snatching the seat for the New Patriotic Party for the first time since 1992, after beating the incumbent National Democratic Congress’ Jeff Tetteh Carvianu convincingly.
